What Does F62 Mean on a Vaillant Boiler?
The most accurate short explanation is that F62 means the boiler did not detect the flame disappearing within the expected time after the combustion sequence instructed it to switch off. Older ecoTEC technical documentation used the wording "gas valve shutoff delay" and identified a leaking gas valve or defective electronics as the possible causes. Is Vaillant F62 Dangerous, and Can I Reset It?

Can a Wiring Fault Cause F62?
A generic cable-harness fault is not one of the three causes Vaillant currently lists directly under F62. That is worth stating because many third-party articles automatically add wiring to any gas-valve fault. Vaillant does, however, have other fault codes that specifically identify wiring or electrical connection problems, including F88 for the electrical connection to the gas valve. An engineer may still examine electrical connections during proper diagnosis, but F62 itself should not be described simply as a "wiring fault".
Can Low Gas Pressure Cause F62?
Vaillant does not currently list low gas pressure directly as an F62 cause. Low gas supply pressure is specifically associated with other codes including F28, F29, F53 and F54. Some third-party articles suggest a stuck valve can simply be "freed"; that should not be presented as a generic F62 solution. How Much Does It Cost to Fix Vaillant F62?

Is It Worth Repairing an Older Vaillant With F62?
Often, yes, but it depends on what is found. An F62 code alone is not a reason to replace the boiler.
